BIO

Formed by 3 singers and 6 musicians, Gang Jah Mind made a notable entrance in 1998 with the release of their debut album “Le Chemin,” which positioned the group at the forefront of the French reggae roots scene. In 2006, they followed up with their second album titled “Dream,” staying true to their reggae roots/dub formula that proved to be tremendously effective. The vibrant trio of female vocalists serves as the strong backbone, infusing the music with power and intensity.

Throughout their ongoing career, the group has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Horace Andy, The Skatalites, The Gladiators, Ijahman, Misty’n Roots, Idir, and -M-.

“The Marseillais of Gang Jah Mind, since the birth of the group in 1991, have always defended those who are looked upon with suspicion […]. They have chosen an enchanting, warm reggae. Their music is driven by a rhythm section that hits you in all the right places, while the voices of Fouziha, Alizia, and Sophia lead you to shores that some would do well to frequent more often… In 1998, they recorded their album ‘Le Chemin,’ which stands among the most authentic creations of the French reggae discography…” – Nouvelle Vague (April 1999)
