Formed in 2016 and based in Paris, the group has developed its own musical identity. In addition to reggae, Jamesty incorporates elements of jazz, funk, soul, and Afro-beat, blending them with percussion rhythms from around the world. The band consists of Jaco Largent, a renowned percussionist who has played with artists such as Christophe Maé, Yael Naïm, and Angélique Kidjo, and Pierre Chabrele, a recent addition to the group and trombonist for Roots Heritage, a band that accompanies Max Romeo on all his tours. Their stage performance, both musically and personally, immerses the audience in a unique and distinctive universe. The English-language lyrics, composed by the young singer, address current themes, making their music even more appealing and moving. And their live shows are truly sensational, taking you into a timeless realm.
Committed to delivering high-quality live music, Jamesty recorded a 7-track live studio session in 2018, which became their first EP, “We Are Great.” After winning the Smac La Batterie competition in May 2019 and performing at various festivals and music venues, Jamesty has now released their second EP, “Let Me Follow,” with the support of the Soulbeats Records label.
